MediServices participated in the Worcestershire Careers and Apprenticeship Roadshow
Last November, our team at MediServices had the privilege of participating in the Worcestershire Careers and Apprenticeship Roadshow, an event that left us feeling inspired and energised about the future of healthcare careers.
Our representatives, Ellie Brennan, a trainee IONM physiologist, and Beth Adams, our digital marketing apprentice, had the opportunity to engage with numerous young people from Worcestershire and Redditch.
Highlighting Career Pathways
During the event, Ellie and Beth shared their experiences and insights into the diverse career paths available in the medical field. They emphasised the various routes one can take, including:
• Traditional university degrees
• Apprenticeship programmes
• On-the-job training opportunities
The focus on apprenticeships was particularly relevant, given the growing recognition of their value in the healthcare sector. Our team highlighted how apprenticeships offer a unique blend of practical experience and theoretical knowledge, making them an attractive option for many aspiring healthcare professionals.
The Power of Personal Stories
What made the evening truly special was the personal touch Ellie and Beth brought to their conversations. As young professionals themselves, they could relate to the students' questions and concerns about entering the workforce. They shared their own journeys:
• Ellie's experience as a trainee IONM physiologist
• Beth's role as a digital marketing apprentice in the healthcare industry
These real-life examples helped to demystify the process of starting a career in healthcare and demonstrated the diverse roles available within the sector.
Looking to the Future
The Worcestershire Careers and Apprenticeship Roadshow, supported by initiatives like the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Hub, plays a crucial role in shaping the future workforce. By connecting young people with industry professionals, these events help to:
• Raise awareness about career opportunities
• Provide guidance on educational pathways
• Inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals
As we reflect on this fantastic evening, we at MediServices are more committed than ever to supporting and nurturing young talent. The enthusiasm and ambition we witnessed remind us of the bright future ahead for the healthcare industry.
We look forward to continuing our involvement in such initiatives and helping to guide the next generation of medical professionals on their career journeys.
