Electroencephalogram (EEG)

An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive test used to record electrical activity in the brain. It helps clinicians diagnose and monitor a range of neurological conditions including epilepsy, seizures, blackouts and other unexplained episodes of altered consciousness.

What Is an EEG?

An EEG measures your brain’s electrical signals through small electrodes placed on the scalp. The signals are recorded and interpreted by trained clinical physiologists to detect any abnormalities in brain activity.

When is an EEG Used?
