On 3 October 2025, MediServices Healthcare hosted its annual EEG Training Day, a dedicated virtual event focused on enhancing quality, consistency and clinical confidence in EEG service delivery.
The event brought together clinical physiologists, consultant neurophysiologists, trainees, operational leads and administrative colleagues from across the country, reflecting MediServices’ commitment to a joined-up and multidisciplinary approach to diagnostics.
Christy Manual, Clinical Neurophysiologist, chaired the programme as part of his continuing professional development (CPD). He set the tone for a collaborative and reflective day centred on peer-to-peer learning and strengthening confidence in EEG delivery across clinical teams.
This year’s training day focused on practical improvements, recent scientific developments and shared learning across teams. It was also an opportunity to pause, reflect and re-align around the standards and values that underpin effective EEG delivery across NHS and independent hospital settings.
A Multi-Disciplinary Agenda Rooted in Practice
The programme brought together clinical and operational leaders to share practical insights on all aspects of EEG service delivery. Sessions explored system optimisation, workflow efficiency, governance, documentation and reporting, each contributing a distinct perspective on how to enhance quality and consistency across EEG services.
The sessions highlighted the critical link between clinical interpretation, operational planning and governance. From how EEG reports are structured, to how clinics are scheduled, every part of the pathway plays a role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred diagnostics.
Feedback from attendees emphasised how valuable it was to bring these different threads together and how rare it is to have clinical, administrative and governance teams aligned in one shared learning space.
“Having insight from across the full EEG pathway, not just from clinicians, but from those who support, plan and audit our work, provided clarity on how we can deliver more consistently as a team.”

Scientific Updates from Across the Sector
In addition to service improvement discussions, the day included an overview of recent scientific updates from key bodies such as the Association of Neurophysiological Scientists (ANS), the European Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ECCN), and the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN).
Topics covered included:
- Refinements in electrode placement and montage selection
- Reporting format updates for improved clinical clarity
- Advances in quantitative EEG and neonatal EEG analysis
- Clinical insights into narcolepsy diagnostics and emerging data on CBD therapy in epilepsy
The event also featured contributions from Neurogen, who delivered a technical training module focused on EEG system optimisation and emerging innovations in diagnostic hardware, ensuring delegates received the latest information on the tools that underpin service quality and accuracy.
These updates will help to ensure that teams remain connected to the wider landscape of neurophysiology and provide context to some of the newer challenges being encountered in diagnostic EEG practice.
Reinforcing a Values-Led Approach to Neurophysiology
MediServices continues to take a values-led approach to service delivery, balancing flexibility and innovation with accountability. The EEG Training Day reaffirmed the importance of that approach, highlighting the role that shared learning plays in upholding standards and supporting our workforce.
Alongside the clinical sessions, the event placed real emphasis on professional growth, from leadership development to CPD, underlining MediServices’ belief in sharing knowledge and supporting excellence across every part of neurophysiology.
“It’s about more than technical updates. Events like this remind us what brilliant looks like, and how we can help each other get there, no matter our role.”
Christine Mozzamdar, Managing Director, MediServices.
There was also a strong sense of motivation among junior team members and trainees, who were able to learn from consultants and experienced physiologists while also contributing their own perspectives. For many, it reinforced why neurophysiology remains such a rewarding and evolving field.
Looking Ahead
As demand for diagnostic neurophysiology continues to grow, MediServices remains focused on clinical quality and continuous improvement. Bringing teams together to align around these priorities is a core part of our culture and something we will continue to invest in.
Future training days will continue to blend scientific updates, technical sessions from partners such as Neurogen and focused CPD activities, ensuring that MediServices teams remain at the forefront of innovation.
We’re grateful to all who attended, contributed and shared their insights and we look forward to building on this momentum throughout the year.
