MediServices support growing demand

New Cross Hospital located on the eastern side of Wolverhampton, is part of the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. The 800 bed Hospital became part of The National Health Service in 1948 and is one of the largest acute and community providers in the West Midlands.


The Challenge

Statistics from an NHS Hospital Outpatient Activity commissioned report highlighted the increasing demand and growing pressure on NHS services.

‘In 2019-20, there were 124.9 million outpatient appointments. An increase of 1.3 percent from the previous year and 66.9 per cent from ten years ago.’

New Cross Hospital has seen a rapid growth, as it continues to expand its clinical services into other geographical areas. As a result, patient referrals have considerably risen.

The Solution

As an experienced clinical service provider, MediServices Healthcare worked closely with the Trust to provide increased capacity and lower waiting times.

In 2020 MediServices saw approximately 1540 patients at New Cross Hospital, offering timely and efficient access to high quality diagnostic services.

Our experienced team of specialist Consultants, Practitioners and Health Care Assistants were able to increase capacity by holding clinics seven days a week, including weekends and evening clinics.
