Helping to reduce pressures on NHS Services
The Kings fund recently highlighted the pressures on the NHS with an ever increasing number of patients requiring access to services.
The Kings Fund also highlighted the pressures on the NHS with key performance targets being missed regularly. As we recover from COVID-19 the NHS will be under greater pressure. The BBC recently estimated the number of people waiting for appointments will increase to 10 million by the end of the year.
MediServices Healthcare offers capacity solutions helping to clear backlogs.
MediServices Healthcare works closely with the team at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) offering an overflow service ensuring patients are seen quicker supporting both outpatient services and spinal services in theatre.
MediServices works along side hospital teams allowing increased capacity and helps clear waiting times and backlogs improving patient care. We work with each department understanding the pressures the services are under and coming up with solutions that work locally. Andile Siziba a Director at MediServices comments:
“We have found that there is no one size fits all solution, our first role is to understand the service and the pressures the service is facing. We then work together to find solutions that would work locally. It’s a team effort working with the local teams for the benefit of the patient”.
Divisional Director of Operations and Performance at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust
As a clinical discipline often dealing with complex diagnostic and neuromonitoring patients, we work with senior clinicians who have NHS experience.
Mr Kamran Hassan a Consultant Spinal Surgeon who regularly works with our specialists in theatre adds:
“MediServices is capable and reliable. It has the ability to interpret trends in monitoring. This has been inclusive of very difficult cases including an acute thoracic pedicle subtraction osteotomy with neurological deficit. The clear communication delivered altered the order in which The surgery was performed. The clinical outcome was excellent”.
MediServices works with clinical teams and managers as part of the team. We offer a dynamic service adapting according to the pressures the service is facing. Sharon Edwards Lead Manager ENT & Spinal Surgery also adds, “Great service, friendly, contactable and reliable even at short notice”
MediServices supports NHS departments nationwide, we provide clinics 7 days a week which ensure patients are seen quicker and help to clear backlogs improving patient experiences.
The future of the Service
The key to any clinical service is sound clinical governance. As a GMC designated body our Medical Director (Responsible Officer) Dr Adrian Fowle leads the Medical Advisory Committee and the Clinical Governance team. We are ISO9001 accredited ensuring strong processes that are continually updated.
We recently completed Phase 1 of IQIPS accreditation for our diagnostic services. As a CQC registered organisation we are regulated and meet national standards. MediServices offers services nationwide assisting thousands of patients each year. Anabela Ferreira Operations Director adds:
“We are continuously reviewing our processes, with external and internal audits looking at all aspects of the service from administration to clinical services. We are constantly recruiting the best in the field and working on innovative pathways to help alleviate pressures on the NHS.”
